The Compass Story

Compass started up in 2009 as a CAFM software development company. However we realised that potential customers wanted more than just a "boxed" software supplier. They also needed a solution to solve specific problems and regarded the software as just part of the overall required solution.

Compass adapted to that need and today our solutions are the key tools for maintaining plant and facility assets to the high standards being demanded today. More importantly, the information generated by these solutions provides our customers with the ability to make better decisions, run operations more efficiently, and achieve the ultimate goal - improve their organisations financial performance.

Compass currently provides a broad spectrum of solutions to our customers in Ireland, UK, USA and Middle East.

Mangement Team

Dominic Murnane
Managing Director and Founder
From his experience in the Facilities Management (FM) sector Dominic identified a gap in the market and developed the award winning CAFM software solutions to fill this niche. Dominic has over 30 years industrial experience (mechanical & electrical engineering) having worked in several fields including machine shop tool rooms, electric cable processing and facilities maintenance. He has held senior management roles (General Manager, Operations Director, MD) in previous companies.
Dominic is responsible for the strategic direction, technical development, and operational consulting services.
Helen Murnane
Helen has several years experience in facilities management in the health sector. For many years Helen has dealt on the front-line with the public and contractors in the HSE. She uses this expertise in the development and implementation of company procedures. Helen is also the Company Secretary.
John Meyler
Business Development (non-exec)
Educated in Franciscan College Gormanston, John graduated from UCC with an Honors Degree in Chemistry. After leaving College he worked with Murphys Brewery and then CMP Dairy as Production Manager. He joined Cork Institute of Technology as a lecturer in Business Strategy whilst graduating from the Open University with an MBA. At present he coordinates the successful Master of Business Program in CIT as well as lecturing on the Honors Degree program in Business Studies. John is well known in GAA circles having been manager of several Senior Hurling Teams.
Brian O'Gorman
Sales - Ireland (non-exec)
Brian is a highly experienced senior executive with over 40 years experience across a broad range of companies in the private sector. Brian has worked with large scale manufacturing companies such as Janelle, Sunbeam Wolsey and Dunloe House. He has specialised knowledge in cost analysis and control, project management and business development.
Brian is qualified in both Industrial Engineering (Sigma 6) and Marketing, Economics from Cork College of Commerce and Cork Institute Technology.
Brian is responsible for sales and marketing, commercial operations, client relationship management and export development.
